February 2009 Prayer Letter

February 2009
Dear Family and Friends,

Proverbs 16:9, “A man’s heart deviseth his way: but the LORD directeth his steps.” This verse describes many of my experiences this past month. I entered January 2009 ready to pursue my deputation schedule, traveling to each destination as planned. From the start, God began to providentially re-direct my plans according to His calendar instead of mine.

My first meeting of the month was cancelled due to an unpleasant flu outbreak; I had to travel early to my second meeting to evade an ice storm. My plans for accommodations had to be adjusted quickly due to a host family’s illness and difficulty in reaching yet another contact. I am thankful to the Uhler family who kindly offered their home on short notice. Despite the confusion, I received a blessing from a message I heard at a church in Pennsylvania. The theme of the message was “The Storms of Life.” The speaker preached on how God brings us through times that we may not understand. Even when we cannot see the whole picture ourselves, we can trust Him because He is
always in control, and He knows the end from the beginning.

I praise the Lord for safety as I drove from New York to South Carolina, and then back up to Virginia this month. At one rest stop, I noticed a van full of guitars and a group of hippie-looking young men. I assume they were a secular rock group traveling for their own kind of meetings. They serve as a reminder that so many young people still need training in biblical music before they fall prey to the
world and its lures.

The Lord has richly blessed my meetings this month. I enjoyed sharing my testimony, DVD presentation, and music, with churches in Pennsylvania, Virginia, North Carolina, and South Carolina. I praise the Lord for another church that recently voted to financially support my ministry. This brought my support level up to 36%! Please do continue to pray with me that the Lord will provide for this vital need.

Please pray for the following requests:

1. Mrs. Ruth Bachorik: she has a herniated disc in her back.
2. Safety as I drive long distances alone.
3. Wisdom as I contact new churches for meetings.
4. Financial support. My support level is currently at 36%.
5. Opportunities to witness
6. Salvation: Leah, Sarah, Marilou, Christina, Mrs. Loyola, Catherina Bona, Marilyn
7. Spiritual growth/Church attendance: Angelita Hipolito, Marilyn Dayao
8. Vanessa and Ruth: Wisdom as they are teaching in my place while I travel on deputation.
