July 2009 Prayer Letter

Dear Family and Friends:

“Are there giants over there?” The question threw me off a little bit, as I didn’t quite understand where it came from. I gave the best answer I could and turned to the next eager hand for another inquiry regarding the Philippines and my ministry. Later, the Sunday School student informed his mother, “She’s a missionary to the Philistines!!!”

I enjoyed working with a three-day Vacation Bible School in Eastern Pennsylvania in mid-June. I shared a story titled “Juan of the Philippines.” Each of the beginning lessons end with Juan wondering about the truth of such things as creation and salvation. A young student informed me that since I was a missionary to the Philippines, I should be the one to go tell Juan the truth.

The Lord blessed my church meetings this month. He also gave an increase to my support, raising it from 44% to 45%. I enjoyed each church I visited, from western Pennsylvania to southern Maine. I was able to contact new pastors and schedule more meetings for my itinerary. Please pray for the Lord to fill in the gaps in my summer and fall schedule.

A new teacher is joining our faculty at Bob Jones Memorial Bible College. Rachel Dahlhausen flew to Manila the end of June. She will teach voice and is a big answer to prayer. Please pray for her adjustment to the climate and culture and for wisdom as she begins teaching her students.

Please pray for the following requests:
1. Safety as I drive long distances alone. I praise the Lord for His protection multiple times from potential accidents.
2. Wisdom as I contact new churches for meetings.
3. Financial support. My support level is currently at 45%.
