August 2008 Prayer Letter
August 2008
Dear Family and Friends,
“Yet I will rejoice in the Lord, I will joy in the God of my salvation,” Habakkuk 3:18. The Lord gave many blessings this month. I had only one Sunday scheduled for meetings, but the Lord worked as I spent much of my time during the week contacting new pastors and churches. This resulted in sixteen new meetings for fall 2008 and early 2009.
The Lord granted travel mercies for my presentations on Sunday, July 27. I visited Open Bible Baptist Church in Cobleskill, NY, for the morning services. It was nice to hear of their faithful prayers for my ministry. I shared “The Red Bracelet,” a fictional missionary story based on actual experiences in the Philippines, with the children during the Junior Church time. I heard that one young member of this class prays for “Miss Jolea Jensen as she travels and preaches in different churches.” I have tried to clarify that I share a testimony and do not preach. 
My visit with Emmanuel Bible Church in Mohawk, NY, was also a blessing. This was my first time giving my “Melodies of Joy” concert, and I look forward to sharing the music again. After the concert, one man came up to me and told me that I used more energy playing than he used during one whole work day! He indicated that he was tired just watching.
Many people have come up to me, wanting to buy the piano books on my display table. I have to tell them, however, that my two hymn arrangement books from the Philippines are not for sale, as I only have one copy of each. Lord willing, there will soon be a book available to those who are interested. I have been working on “Forever Redeemed,” a collection of Intermediate Piano Hymn Arrangements. The Lord provided a Christian publishing company to print these books at a moderate cost.
A family in my home church let me borrow their GPS system. This was a great blessing as I traveled this past Sunday, and will continue to help as my travels take me to new locations.
Please pray for the following requests:
1. Safety as I drive long distances alone.
2. Wisdom as I contact new churches for meetings. Please pray that the Lord will lead me to the ministries that He wants me to go to.
3. Financial support. My support level is currently at 25%.
