August 2010 Prayer Update

Dear Praying Friends:

July has been an interesting and exciting month. I traveled more this past month than I have ever traveled in the span of 31 days before; my mileage total for the month reached 3,100 miles! I praise the Lord for the safety He granted as I traveled back and forth from Ohio to Illinois and Wisconsin and back to Ohio and New York. Thank you to everyone who continues to pray for safety on the roads. Sometimes I am very aware of God’s surrounding hand of protection, especially as I drive through large cities like Chicago or through menacing, tornado-producing thunderstorms in Wisconsin! “For He shall give His angels charge over thee, to keep thee in all thy ways,” (Psalm 91:11).

I really enjoyed working with children’s ministries at Camp Joy and at a Vacation Bible School in Ohio. One of the VBS teachers got sick during the week, so I taught her class in addition to helping with the music and sharing about the Philippines. At Camp Joy, I directed the evening service for the elementary age children, sharing a missionary story from the Philippines and teaching songs while an evangelist followed with preaching.

By God’s grace, I will be flying to the Philippines on Monday, October 25, 2010. Gospel Fellowship Association gave me approval to return for second semester, which begins on November 9, 2010. I will return to the States on April 4, 2011, to take part in my brother’s wedding and to complete more deputation meetings. God raised my support to 81% this month; please continue praying for the remaining 19% that is needed. I continue to trust God to provide in His perfect timing.

When I return to the field, my responsibilities will include teaching in the college as well as language study. I plan to enroll in language school to improve my communication skills. I have been studying Tagalog throughout my deputation and hope to have a good foundation for my start in formal training.

Please pray for the following requests:

1. Safety, alertness, and good health as I drive long distances
2. Wisdom as I continue working on my itinerary for 2010/2011
3. Financial support. My support level is currently at 81%!
4. Opportunities to witness; boldness to share the Gospel
5. Health: my grandmother recently had a heart attack and is currently in the hospital
6. Quick processing of my passport
7. Comprehension as I continue studying the Tagalog language.

My deputation schedule for August-October 2010 is as follows:

August 22 Sullivan Harbor Baptist Church, Sullivan, ME
August 29 Linneus Free Will Baptist Church, Linneus, ME
September 1 Calvary Baptist Church, Warren, ME
September 5 Hill Village Bible Church, Hill, NH
September 22 Woodcrest Baptist Church, Fridley, MN
September 26 Park City Baptist Church, Merrill, WI
October 3 Faith Baptist Church, Beloit, WI
October 10 Bible Baptist Church, Beaver Dam, WI
October 17 Bay City Baptist Church, Green Bay, WI

Thank you very much to each of you who continue to financially support and pray for my ministry. “Now unto Him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us, Unto Him be glory in the church by Christ Jesus throughout all ages, world without end. Amen,” (Ephesians 3:20, 21).

Joyfully serving the King of kings,
Jolea Jensen
