December 2009 Prayer Update

Dear Praying Friends:

Deputation provides new and exciting experiences. One time this past month, a lady took me to the stairs that led up to the church missions closet. She proceeded to open the door. Before she opened it all the way, the door, complete with its frame, came out of its space in the wall! We stood there, holding up door and frame, trying to figure out how to fix the problem. We finally found a way to lean the door on the floor to support the frame, so it would not fall on us again!

One of my students from Bob Jones Memorial Bible College took a short trip to Bangladesh in November. She desires to teach English to Bengali pastors, so they can use English Bible study tools to enhance their understanding and teaching of Scripture. Please pray for Nancy as she seeks the Lord’s guidance for her future plans of ministry.

I visited many churches this month and met many Christians who have been a wonderful blessing to me. Once I had an opportunity to speak with an Asian lady who is currently seeking for answers to many questions she has about the Bible and about God. This past Sunday, I shared my ministry presentation at a church near home. This was a unique experience, as I spoke through interpreters to a congregation consisting mainly of people who spoke the Chin, Burmese, and Karen (kuh-REHN) languages. God has been blessing this small ministry with opportunities to reach out to Burmese refugees in the New York capitol area. Many have accepted the Lord as their Savior, and some are even serving as interpreters and teachers for Sunday School classes.

My support level is still at 52%. I praise God for His provision so far and for the provision He will yet provide. One day this month when I needed encouragement, I read the following verses in my evening devotions: “[Abraham] staggered not at the promise of God in unbelief; but was strong in faith, giving glory to God; And being fully persuaded that, what he had promised, he was able also to perform,” (Romans 4:20-21). I continue praying for the support to reach 100% in God’s perfect timing. My desire is to return to the Philippines in May of 2010.

Please pray for the following requests:

1. Safety and good health as I drive long distances.
2. Wisdom as I continue working on my itinerary (meetings, housing, etc.) for 2010.
3. Financial support. My support level is currently at 52%.
4. Opportunities to witness; boldness to share the Gospel
5. Salvation: Leah, Sarah, Marilou, Christina, Mrs. Loyola, Catherina Bona, Marilyn
6. Spiritual growth/Church attendance: Angelita Hipolito, Marilyn Dayao
7. Ruth Potter: wisdom as she teaches in my place at BJMBC.

May this Christmas season be a time of renewing our desire to win the lost around us, both at home and in the world beyond.

Rejoicing in our Savior,
Jolea Jensen
