February 2008 Prayer Letter

February 2008

Dear Family and Friends,

“And all the inhabitants of the earth are reputed as nothing: and he doeth according to his will in the army of heaven, and among the inhabitants of the earth: and none can stay his hand, or say unto him, What doest thou?” (Dan. 4:35). This past month, the Lord has shown His mighty power in various ways. Often we do not understand why He chooses to work the way He does, but we can know that in His sovereignty, He is in complete control.

My friend Beth Naval teaches elementary music with me in Gospel Light Christian Academy. She also works for New Song Ministries (the Bachorik’s music publishing ministry). On Saturday, January 26, she had a bad asthma attack and actually lost pulse and breathing for about four minutes. Her cousin performed CPR on her while they were rushing to the hospital in a taxi. The Lord graciously gave her life back to her again, and we are praising Him for the miracle He performed. Beth is the national whom I am training to teach elementary music classes. We are planning for her to teach 1st-3rd grade music on her own next year. Please pray for her complete recovery.

Evangelist Barry Webb held a week of revival meetings at Gospel Light Baptist Church earlier in January. The messages were powerful and helped refresh my walk with the Lord. Sarah Mun, the Korean lady, attended a couple of nights. Evangelist Webb drew a chalk art picture of the crucifixion one night, and Sarah asked me about the meaning of that picture. A friend and I tried again to explain the Gospel to her, but she still does not understand. Please continue to pray for her to see her need of a Saviour to cleanse her heart of sin.

The BJMBC choir will give a sacred concert in four different churches on March 2 and March 9. Mr. Bachorik has put together an excellent program focusing on the redeeming work of the Lamb of God. We are praying for many to hear and understand the Gospel message as we sing some very powerful selections.

My younger piano students will have a recital on March 8. Please pray for all the details for that occasion to come together, especially as I am the one in charge of making sure everything runs smoothly. Our college students will have their piano juries (final piano exam) on March 14. Please pray for them as they work hard to learn their pieces. Please pray also as our four music graduates look forward to graduating on Friday, April 4. Please pray that each of them (James, EJ, Abigail, and Dorcas) will follow the Lord’s will for their future ministries for Him.

Prayers and Praises:
1. I will have my meeting with the Candidate Committee at GFA April 16-18. Please pray for wisdom for the men and for me as we continue to pursue God’s will concerning my full-time ministry here in Manila, Philippines.
2. Tess Brosoto: The Lord allowed her to have the hip replacement surgery she has been needing desperately. Please pray for her quick recovery and for endurance as she undergoes a long period of therapy.
3. Opportunities to witness, spiritual growth, wisdom in teaching, good health
4. Salvation: Leah, Sarah, Marilou, Christina, Mrs. Loyola, Catherina Bona
5. Spiritual growth/Church attendance: Angelita Hipolito, Marilyn Dayao
6. Wisdom as I continue writing hymn arrangements for piano students. The staff at New Song Ministries (the Bachorik’s publishing company) are already working on the first publication of these books.

Thank you so much for your faithful prayers and support. May God bless you as you serve Him.
