January 2009
Dear Family and Friends:
“Ah Lord GOD! Behold, thou has made the heaven and the earth by thy
great power and stretched out arm, and there is nothing too hard for
thee,” Jer. 32:17. As I look ahead into the year 2009, I see a busy
deputation schedule—individual meetings and missions conferences.
This means traveling alone for hundreds of miles and dozens of hours.
In my own strength, I cannot do this, but I know that “faithful is he
that calleth you, who also will do it,” (I Thes. 5:24). Because God
is with me, I know He will guide and protect through the long hours
and miles.
I spent part of December working on my deputation schedule. A hacker
got into my e-mail and sent a spam letter to my whole address book.
Instead I was enjoying time at home with my family! This hacking
required me to change my e-mail address and notify everyone of the
change. God blessed by allowing me to renew contact with a couple
pastors and gain two church meetings as a result. The prankster meant
this for evil, but God turned it into good. I also contacted several
churches in Ohio and West Virginia during the beginning of the month.
These contacts yielded a total of ten new church meetings, bringing my
schedule for 2009 up to forty-two meetings.
As I travel, people sometimes ask me about music standards or about
principles of music in the Bible. I wanted to have a good answer for
those who ask, so I spent time this month researching several books
and Scripture passages. The result is a short pamphlet entitled
“Music in Your Church: War or Worship.” This will be made available
as I visit churches.
Please pray for the following requests:
1. Mrs. Ruth Bachorik: she has a herniated disc in her back.
2. Safety as I drive long distances alone.
3. Wisdom as I contact new churches for meetings.
4. Financial support. My support level is currently at 31%.
5. Opportunities to witness
6. Salvation: Leah, Sarah, Marilou, Christina, Mrs. Loyola, Catherina
Bona, Marilyn
7. Spiritual growth/Church attendance: Angelita Hipolito, Marilyn Dayao
8. Vanessa and Ruth: Wisdom as they are teaching in my place while I
travel on deputation.
