Dear Praying Friends:
“O sing unto the LORD a new song; for He hath done marvelous things: His right hand, and His holy arm, hath gotten Him the victory,” Psalm 98:1. The Lord raised my support up to 63% this month! I praise Him for His provision through a new supporting church and fellow servants of the Lord. Our God is truly Almighty, and He sovereignly works His will in our lives in His perfect timing.
This month I spent time contacting pastors and scheduling more meetings. I now have thirty-seven meetings scheduled from Maine to Iowa for 2010. The rest of my time was spent studying Tagalog and researching for a class I will teach when I return to the Philippines.
I enjoyed visiting Beth Eden Baptist Church in Fitchburg, Massachusetts, in early December. The Lord sent an ice storm that weekend, so I stayed longer than originally planned. I not only shared my Christmas concert on Friday night but also gave an update on my ministry, taught the Ladies’ Sunday School class, and sang with the choir for their Christmas Cantata on Sunday.
In my November prayer letter, I mentioned two balikbayan boxes that I packed and got ready to send overseas. There has been a providential delay with these packages, and they are now scheduled to depart from New Jersey by January 8. The ship will take approximately six weeks to travel to the Philippines. Please pray for a safe passage for these boxes, and that the books inside will enhance the ministries of our students at Bob Jones Memorial Bible College.
I continue to look for books that our students can use in the Philippines. Sometimes the Lord provides these in unique ways. This month, some friends donated some Bible study books. I also met a lady at our local music store. She asked me what kind of books I was looking for, and then she told me that she had several boxes of books at her home that she could give me. She invited me to her house to select the books I wanted, and I shared a Gospel tract with her.
Please pray for the following requests:
1. Safety and good health as I drive long distances, especially in these snowy winter months.
2. Wisdom as I continue working on my itinerary (meetings, housing, etc.) for 2010.
3. Financial support. My support level is currently at 63%!
4. Opportunities to witness; boldness to share the Gospel
5. Salvation: Leah, Sarah, Marilou, Christina, Mrs. Loyola, Catherina Bona, Marilyn
6. Spiritual growth/Church attendance: Angelita Hipolito, Marilyn Dayao
