June 2010 Prayer Update

Dear Praying Friends:

“If you were to die today, do you know for sure if you would go to Heaven?” I asked a doctor in Peoria, Illinois. He replied, “Well, I hope I’ve done enough good to get myself into Heaven.” I asked if he had a Bible at home; he did have one but said he hadn’t read it too much. I replied that the Bible is the Word of God and since God is in Heaven, He is the ultimate authority on how we get there someday. I quoted Titus 3:5, “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to His mercy He saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost” and Ephesians 2:8-9, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: Not of works, lest any man should boast.” I shared that the only way we can have our sins forgiven is by trusting in the shed blood of Christ on the cross and quoted Romans 10:9, “That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.” God gave me an open door to witness to this doctor during my hour-long appointment at his chiropractic office that day. I left a “God’s Simple Plan of Salvation” tract with him and encouraged him to read the book of Romans in his Bible when he got home. Please pray for Dr. G to see Christ as the only way for salvation. He has been a devoted Roman Catholic all his life.

My co-workers, the Bachoriks, mentioned in their latest prayer letter that they really need me to return to the mission field by second semester this school year. Cherry Catalo, a national teacher in the music department, will be on maternity leave for her third child and will be unable to teach that semester. If it is God’s will, I would like to leave for the Philippines in October. The Lord raised my support up to 79% this month; please pray for God to provide the remaining 21% in His perfect timing.

I have enjoyed traveling throughout the mid-west this month with meetings in Wisconsin, Illinois, and Missouri. The Lord provided safety each step of the way. I had many opportunities again to share with ladies and children and to minister with sacred piano music. Last week, I had the privilege of seeing the Kamibayashiyamas for a couple hours before they headed south from Chicago. Please pray for safety for Dr. K and his family as they fly back to the Philippines on June 5th, arriving in Manila on June 6th.

Please pray for the following requests:

1. Safety and good health as I drive long distances
2. Wisdom as I continue working on my itinerary for 2010.
3. Financial support. My support level is currently at 79%! Please pray that I might be able to return to my adopted country by October 2010, if God so wills.
4. Opportunities to witness; boldness to share the Gospel
5. Salvation: Dr. G in Peoria, IL
6. Ruth Potter: wisdom for a third year teaching at BJMBC
7. Comprehension as I continue studying the Tagalog language.

In the Service of the King,
Jolea Jensen
