March 2009 Prayer Letter
March 2009
Dear Family and Friends,
“As the hart panteth after the water brooks, so panteth my soul after
thee, O God,” Psalm 42:1. As I continue traveling on deputation, I
find myself in need of personal spiritual refreshment. A pastor from
Pittsburgh invited me to join his family for the annual Holiness
Conference at Falls Baptist Church in Menomonee Falls, Wisconsin. I
rode with his family for the 12-hour drive from Pittsburgh,
Pennsylvania to Wisconsin. The conference included four days of sound
biblical teaching and uplifting sacred music and was a wonderful
blessing.
In my December prayer letter, I mentioned a need for piano music. I
continue to look for music books to take back to the Philippines,
especially piano music books (sacred and classical) and music
education textbooks. I would like to thank some friends in South
Carolina who donated three boxes of music books. My students will
greatly appreciate these, as quality resources are difficult to find
in the Philippines.
Two young ladies, Vanessa Marshall and Ruth Potter, have graciously
substituted for me this school year. Only Ruth is able to return for
a second year, however. Please pray that the Lord will provide my
full support, so I can return to the field as soon as possible. I
praise Him that my support level is now at 36%.
Thank you so much for your prayers for me as I continue traveling
across miles of interstate and country roads. Sometimes this travel
can get quite interesting, especially when driving near horses. Once
two horses (with riders) approached me on the opposite side of the
road; one reared up on its hind legs when it saw me. I was very glad
those hooves did not land on my car!
Please pray for the following requests:
1. Safety as I drive long distances alone.
2. Wisdom as I contact new churches for meetings.
3. Financial support. My support level is currently at 36%.
4. Opportunities to witness
5. Salvation: Leah, Sarah, Marilou, Christina, Mrs. Loyola, Catherina Bona, Marilyn
6. Spiritual growth/Church attendance: Angelita Hipolito, Marilyn Dayao
7. Ruth Potter: financial support for a second year teaching at BJMBC.
