October 2009 Prayer Update
Dear Family and Friends:
Deputation meetings this month took me from Memphis to Michigan to Maryland. I enjoyed visiting my former church and school (in Memphis, Tennessee) that I served in from 2001-2004. These students helped prepare me for my current ministry in Manila. I was excited to see several of them growing in their walk with the Lord and desiring to serve Him with their lives.
The last week of September brought a devastating typhoon to the Philippines. Parts of Manila flooded that had never seen flooding before. One of my coworkers’ families had some rooms in their home flooded. Another family is dealing with their van that remained submerged under four feet of water for five hours.
My car randomly chose not to start twice this past month, once in Michigan, and then in Maryland. Both times, the Lord provided mechanics to look at it, but the puzzle remains unsolved. Thankfully, I was at a church or someone’s home when this happened. I appreciate your prayers for me for safety as I continue traveling alone. I could peer into the engine of my car, but my “intelligence” of its intricate detail would certainly be pretense!
Please pray for the following requests:
1. Safety as I drive long distances alone.
2. Wisdom as I continue contacting new churches for meetings.
3. Financial support. My support level is currently at 52%.
4. Opportunities to witness
