Dear Praying Friends:
What a joy it is to serve our Savior! During my trip to New England this month, I had two opportunities to speak to individuals about a personal relationship with our Lord Jesus Christ. One, in a bookstore, had a Tagalog/English dictionary in his pile of books to buy. We started talking about the Philippines, and I discovered he was married to a Filipina. I said goodbye and left, but as I was walking to my car, the Lord prompted me to return and give the man a tract. I returned and said I wanted to give him something and then asked if he knew where he was going someday when he died. He said he was a Christian and was going to Heaven. I asked him how one became a Christian, and he returned the question to me. I replied that I put my faith and trust in the shed blood of Christ on the cross. This man was a member of a Church of Christ; he did not give me a clear testimony of faith in Christ but instead said that he met with a group from the church for a time and then got baptized to “receive the Holy Spirit” when he was ready to get saved. I referred to Romans 6 as I shared that baptism is an outward testimony of the inward working of the Holy Spirit that occurs at the time one trusts in Christ as Savior. Please pray for Greg to understand the whole truth of Scripture regarding salvation by faith alone.
One church I visited was near Acadia National Park in Maine. Some ladies in the church kindly took me to see the ocean and take pictures. One day, we walked along a trail by the bay on the Schoodic Peninsula and met an artist who was just setting up his easel among the pines. Christopher was nice to talk to, and I had another opportunity to share the Gospel. I had no tract or Bible with me, so I quoted verses as I shared with him how he could know for sure that he was going to Heaven someday. He listened politely but still thought he could do enough good works to get there on his own. He comes from a Catholic background. Please pray for Christopher to take my challenge to read his Bible and to see the truth from God’s Word.
Each witnessing opportunity is different, and I am so glad God helps us know what to say to individuals who need to hear the truth of the Gospel. Please pray for wisdom and for more opportunities to speak to people about their need of a Savior. Our Lord is returning soon, and time is short.
I am looking forward to flying to Manila, Philippines, on October 25, 2010. The flight leaves Albany, New York, around 9:30 AM (EST) and lands in Manila around 11 AM (EST) the following day. Please pray for a smooth trip and for opportunities to witness to those I meet along the way. Please pray also for my balikbayan boxes I shipped in August to arrive safely; they should reach the Philippines by November. My support level is at 81%; please continue to pray for God’s provision for the remaining 19% support that I still need.
My co-workers, the Bachoriks, are locating an apartment for me. I am responsible for all furnishings (refrigerator, two-burner cooktop, table/chairs, bed, etc.). Please pray that we will find these in good condition and at a reasonable cost. God has already provided linens and towels, etc. from missions closets in churches that I have visited. Thank you for your kindness and generosity.
Thank you to each of you who have been praying for my passport—it arrived and is ready for my overseas flight. Thank you also for praying for my grandmother, Marguerite West. Her house burned down, and she was admitted to the hospital for a heart attack in July. She moved to a nursing home and was just released to move home with my parents.
Please pray for the following requests:
1. Safety, alertness, and good health as I drive to the Midwest again for more meetings.
2. Wisdom as I continue working on my itinerary for April/May 2011. I return on April 4, 2011 and will travel again to present my ministry in various churches.
3. Financial support. My support level is currently at 81%!
4. Opportunities to witness; boldness to share the Gospel
5. Comprehension as I continue studying the Tagalog language.

Exciting ministry opportunities lie ahead. My students at BJMBC are thrilled about my return, and I am very eager to teach again. I look forward to entering language school and having professional training in Tagalog. This will provide regular opportunities to witness to others I ride with as I travel each week on public transportation. A friend invited me to visit her island of Mindanao for Christmas; we will hold a Christmas concert as an outreach to her community in Malaybalay City (muh-LIE-buh-LIE). This will benefit their Christian school, and many will hear the Gospel through the preaching of God’s Word. Thank you for your continued prayers and support for my ministry.
In the Service of the King,
Jolea Jensen
